KOYO AUSTRALIA

1964 “Australian Koyo Ltd.” (AKL) was established as a joint venture between Koyo Seiko Co., Ltd. (Japan) and a local company A.E. Goodwin.
1970 Koyo Seiko (Japan) obtained 100% of AKL’s share.
1970’s Local Production of Ball & Roller Bearings in Australia. Growth in Mining / Railway sectors in Western Australia, supplied to Hamersley Iron (Rio Tinto) and Mount Newman Mining Company (BHP).
1980’s Supply started to Ford Australia and Holden (wheel bearings).
1991 Change of company name to “Koyo Australia Pty. Ltd.”
1990’s Introduction of Universal Driveshaft to Rev Roughing Mill and won Roll Neck Bearing business (100%) at One Steel Whyalla in SA. Supply started to Mitsubishi Motors Australia (wheel bearings)
1998 Obtained AS/NZS ISO9001: 2000 Certification
2006 Supply stared to Toyota Australia for locally built Camry (3rd Gen Hub Bearing Units & Strut Bearings)
2010 Acquisition of the Torrington Needle Roller Bearing business from The Timken Company
2017 Centralisation and integration of operation to Sydney Head Office at Seven Hills
